NEED HELP FILING YOUR CLAIM?

The Andover Companies and your independent agent want to resolve your claim as quickly as possible. By following the steps, you can help the claims process go even more smoothly.

*Please note that non-emergency claims reported via phone outside of business hours will be processed on the following business day. If the property is habitable and all residents are safe, we recommend filing your claim online or calling us at 800-225-0770 during business hours. (Business hours: 8:15am-4:30pm EST Monday-Thursday and 8:15am-3:00pm EST on Fridays)

Step 1: Report

Contact The Andover Companies or your independent insurance agent to report the loss. We will gather details like timing, damage, and contact information to get the claims process started. File online, call Andover at 800-225-0770, or find your agent with our search tool.

Step 2: Record

Throughout the claims process, make sure to keep all receipts and a record of any temporary repairs that were required to keep your property safe. Photos are helpful in documenting damage, especially if immediate mitigation is required.

Step 3: Retain

Create an inventory of personal property that was damaged, destroyed, or stolen, and retain items that need to be fixed or replaced. Ask your independent adjuster for tips if you are not sure where to begin.

CLAIMS FAQ

  • How do I report a claim on weekends or after hours?

If you can’t reach your agent and your claim is an emergency, please call our home office at 800-225-0770 for assistance.

  • What steps should I take when a loss occurs?

The most important step is ensuring the safety of those at the scene of the loss. Depending on the incident, you may need to contact the fire department, police, or other emergency personnel. Your next call should be to your insurance agent to start the claims process. If it is safe to do so, you may want to take steps to protect your property against further damage, but do not undertake any permanent repairs before an Andover Companies representative has had the opportunity to inspect your property.

  • What can I do to prepare my property before a disaster?

On our blog, you will find a variety of articles on protecting your property from potentially catastrophic events, such as fire, severe weather, theft, water damage, and more.

  • What should I do if I can’t reach my insurance agent?

If you are unable to reach your local agent, please contact our claims team at 800-225-0770 during our regular business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:15 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (ET)

You may also submit a claim through our secure online customer portal.
